The cold weather and snow brings a completely different atmosphere of activities and fun for the residents of Denver. Being so close to the mountains, we’ve got the option to go hit the slopes, ice fish, dog sled our way around new trails in the backcountry, or ride around on a snowmobile and surf deep powder in wide open fields and hills. There’s really an endless amount of fun you can have in our beautiful state. Unfortunately, with all that fun comes a completely different set of aches and pains as well. Staying active in winter, or any time of the year for that matter, can take a toll on the body. It’s extremely important to take a step back and have those “relax and recover” days too.

Yoga has long been used to not only recover, but prepare winter wanderers for adventures in the mountains and cold. Whether you’re addicted to backcountry snowcats or just figuring out how to snowshoe, yoga can be extremely beneficial in helping you to feel less fatigued during activities and at the end of the day. In addition, the body awareness you learn in yoga will help you control specific muscle groups needed to excel at any winter sport that gets your heart racing. Infusing cannabis and/or CBD to yoga classes is a unique way in giving yogi’s an additional way to relax and recover.
