WHAT IS KRATOM?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tea-like plant grown in the pacific islands and used since the early 1800s for its medicinal properties. This supplement has been used to help with energy, mental clarity, relaxation, and an overall general feeling of well-being.

The leaf is typically consumed by brewing it into a tea or by grinding the leaf into a powder, inserting it into a capsule, and taken orally.

WHY SHOULD KRATOM BE PROTECTED?

Kratom is used by people from all walks of life who are looking for a more natural botanical health supplement. In fact, it is estimated that 10-15 million Americans are using or have been using Kratom for its benefits.

Protecting Kratom means consumers will have a safe way to access a natural plant that can provide energy, focus, relaxation, and better sleep!

WHAT IS THE AKA?

The American Kratom Association is the front line defender for Kratom in the United States. Since 2014 the AKA has provided the most up-to-date, fact-based information to the general public, lawmakers, and regulators. Every day they fight the lawmakers and the FDA for full consumer access to this medicinal plant that is helping millions of people daily!

WHAT IS THE KRATOM CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT?

In short, The Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act will help create a safer way for consumers to purchase Kratom while creating regulations for all Kratom manufacturers to follow in an effort to keep consumers safe. Under the KCPA all Kratom sold on the nationwide market will have to adhere to specific standards, have special labels on packaging, prohibit sales of unregulated kratom, and require registration for companies and products.

Utah, Georgia, Arizona, and Oregon have all passed some sort of Kratom legislation and different versions of the KCPA making Kratom sold in their states safer for consumers.

The KCPA on a nationwide level would ensure that all Kratom on the market would be regulated and safe for all consumers!
